World-leading incentives
British racing offers a wealth of incentive schemes and sales races to ensure that owners can win substantially more prize money than is stated in the racecard.
Great British Bonus
Rewarding owners of British-bred fillies and mares with the chance to win up to £20,000 in bonuses time and time again. The scheme has paid out over £10million in additional prize money since its inception in 2020.
TBA Elite NH Mares’ Scheme
The Elite NH Mares’ Scheme rewards the owners of those mares proven on the racecourse or at stud, by providing subsidised, and in some cases free, nominations to eligible British based stallions.
Because of the Elite Mares’ Scheme, I felt for the first time ever in getting hold of a new stallion that he has a better chance of making it in the UK than in Ireland.
Simon Sweeting, stud manager, Overbury Stud
High-Value Developmental Races
The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has today announced the programming of over 60 high-value developmental races in 2023, with funding provided by the BHA, Darley and Juddmonte, supported by additional contributions from the hosting racecourses. The incentive will offer prize money ranging from £30,000 to £50,000 for maiden and novice races.
British European Breeders Fund
The EBF puts on average €5million back into racing throughout Europe in additional prize money in the form of sponsorship each year. Over 80% of two-year-old races in each member country are confined to EBF eligible horses only. Selected conditions races, novices and handicaps also receive significant added prize money. There is also significant support for jump racing.
