DUBAI HONOUR left his Group 1 winning rivals four and a half lengths behind when securing the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill Gardens under Ryan Moore on Saturday.

Following PROTAGONIST’s victory in last weekend’s Group 3 Sky High Stakes, this latest result takes trainer William Haggas’ record in Australia to seven wins from 11 runs, four of those victories at Group 1 level.

Dubai Honour, who is a Tattersalls October Book 2 graduate, is now poised to compete in the $5 million Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Royal Randwick on Saturday, 8th April. Haggas has form taking a Ranvet winner on to a successful showing at Randwick, having saddled ADDEYBB to win both contests in 2020.

A jubilant Issy Paul, representing Haggas in Australia, spoke with GBRI after the win:

“We’re all absolutely delighted with Dubai Honour today. He was really, really tough. It was ground that we really didn’t think he was going to like and he just really pulled it out of the bag. A complete star.

“James who led him up, it was his first Group 1 lead up so that was also very exciting. The horse and everyone down here is such a credit to the whole team at home, as well as all the hard work that goes on there.”
