ROYAL ASCOT TAKES THE CENTRE STAGE

The world's most prestigious racing festival, Royal Ascot, gets underway on Tuesday. The Royal meeting is known for its exhilarating sporting competition set against a backdrop of sartorial elegance and summer socialising. 8 Group 1 races and 19 Group races are scheduled across five days.

Contenders from Australia, the USA and Europe will take on the best horses in Britain, with owners from over 20 countries represented in the entries. Last year's edition saw owners from 13 different countries visit the winner's enclosure.

The Goffs London Sale represents a golden opportunity to purchase a horse with a Royal Ascot entry on the eve of the prestigious meeting.

Held in the picturesque Kensington Palace Gardens in Central London on the afternoon of Monday 17th June, the boutique invitation-only sale gives owners the possibility to acquire quality bloodstock with an engagement at Royal Ascot and race in their colours. The BHA and Weatherbys promptly process the change of ownership and racing colours.

  • FRANCISCO'S PIECE (GB) - Listed winning two-year-old trained by Adrian Keatley and targeting the Coventry Stakes or Norfolk Stakes
  • ROCK HUNTER (GB) - Listed placed two-year-old trained by Amy Murphy and targeting the Norfolk Stakes or Windsor Castle Stakes
  • PENTLE BAY - Two-year-old debut winner trained by George Boughey and targeting the Chesham Stakes
  • QUEUES LIKELY (GB) - Three-year-old Gr.3 winner & German 1000 Guineas runner-up trained by Stan Moore and targeting the Sandringham Stakes

The 2024 Royal Meeting, taking place from Tuesday 18th June to Saturday 22nd June, is set to be carried by 31 broadcasters showcasing the event in 180 territories- growing the reach of Royal Ascot for a fifth consecutive year. If you are watching from afar, the list of broadcasters includes:

  • ITV Racing, who will continue to present their award-winning coverage live from Ascot Racecourse, featuring every single race of the meeting.
  • Sky Sports Racing, also showing all 35 races live with the on course presentation team providing expert previews ahead of each day as well as in-depth analysis of each race.
  • NBC and Peacock will continue their dedicated coverage across their linear and digital channels and will provide on course presence.
  • Channel 9, Australia's leading sports broadcaster will air the full Royal Meeting with Sky Thoroughbred Central and Entain also showing the event to the Oceanic audience.
  • Other international broadcasters distributing the Royal Meeting include Viaplay in Scandinavia, RAI in Italy, Sony Pictures Network in the Indian Subcontinent, SportsNet in Canada, ESPN in Latin America, Dubai Media Incorporated in the Middle East, The Green Channel in Japan & SuperSport in sub-Saharan Africa.
