PROGRAM TRADING TAKES FORM TO NEW LEVEL IN GRADE 1 COMPANY

PROGRAM TRADING (GB) became the latest British-bred and British-sold star to carry the ultra-successful Klaravich Stables silks to Grade 1 glory on Saturday, when keeping his faultless record in tact in the Saratoga Derby Invitational Stakes.

The three-year-old, trained by Chad Brown, was bred in Newmarket by Sara and Luca Cumani's Fittocks Stud, alongside Andrew Bengough's Arrow Farm & Stud, out of the partners' OASIS DREAM (GB) mare DREAMLIKE (GB), a homebred herself.

Dreamlike's dam, SO SILK (GB), is a half-sister to the 2007 Group 1 Racing Post Trophy (now the Futurity Trophy) winner IBN KHALDUN, and was acquired by Fittocks Stud for 480,000 guineas at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale in 2008.

Like so many of Klaravich Stables' most successful turf horses in recent years, Program Trading himself was sourced by Mike Ryan at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1. He cost 250,000 guineas at the 2021 renewal.

It was at the 2020 edition of Book 1 that the owner-agent combination secured MCKULICK (GB), who also landed a big prize at Saratoga this week when catching WAR LIKE GODDESS in the final strides of the Grade 2 Glens Falls Stakes on Thursday.

The 2023 Book 1 catalogue can now be viewed HERE. Among the yearlings due to be offered by Fittocks Stud is the half-sister to Program Trading, by first crop sire PINATUBO (Lot 334), as well as a colt from the same family, by the same sire as Program Trading in LOPE DE VEGA (Lot 103).
