Owners to toast success of British-bred Gr.1 winners with ‘GB’ gin

Starting from Saturday’s Betfair Chase at Haydock Park, the first Grade 1 of the British National Hunt season, owners of British-bred European Grade and Group 1 winners will receive a bottle of Chase ‘GB’ gin as a congratulatory gift in recognition of their achievements and to celebrate a British-bred success. The novel initiative is the result of a link-up between Chase Distillery and Great British Racing International.

James Oldring, Operations Director of GBRI, comments:

“Through this joint venture with Chase Distillery, we hope to throw the spotlight on British bloodstock in a way that makes top-level winning owners sit up, take notice and start conversation. The ‘GB’ gin bottles are eye-catching and proudly British, and we are extremely grateful to Chase for their support of British racing and breeding.”

James Chase, Head Ambassador of Chase Distillery, also comments:

“As a family, we have been passionately supporting racing calendar for numerous years and it is so incredibly exciting to partner with GBRI. We believe that British racing’s audience really ties in with our field to bottle ethos, a celebration of the countryside!”

British breeders are due to be represented in the Betfair Chase by five-time Grade 1 winner THISTLECRACK (GB). The son of Overbury Stud’s KAYF TARA (GB) was bred by Robin and Scarlett Knipe of Cobhall Court Stud, Herefordshire, and is owned by John and Heather Snook.
